We’ve been angling to interview author Matt Mikalatos almost since Frequency’s inception. His first published book, My Imaginary Jesus was a fresh and often hilarious search for the real Jesus. When we found out he had a new book out, we were quick to jump into action. In our 22nd episode, we offer the first part of our conversation with the Northwest native and dig into his latest offering: The First Time We Saw Him: Awakening to the Wonder of Jesus.
Matt’s compassion, intelligence, and humor are always up front, which translates to his writing. He tells Joe about the motivation behind the retelling of some of the most well-known stories in scripture, why it makes some people mad, and why it matters to connect with people through stories that are relevant.
